Revealing a hidden enemy in the game.

Darklight is an atmospheric, top-down shooter with a survival horror theme. It was built entirely from scratch (programming, art, sound effects) in 48 hours during the Game Maker game jam, and then refined and polished afterward.

Your character is a former scientist exploring an abandoned, mysterious lab in an attempt to search for a loved one. Wretched, haunting sounds echo through the rooms as you cautiously make your way through the facility.  As you explore the lab, it quickly becomes apparent that something went horribly wrong. Supernatural creatures that are invisible to the naked eye have overrun the lab, and there are no other people in sight. You must fight your way past these creatures as you explore the lab and search for your loved one in an attempt to save them and escape together.

The player can reveal these creatures by activating their special flashlight. Once revealed, the creatures will hunt you down quickly! Switch to your gun to dispatch them, but be warned, you can only carry six bullets at a time. Be warned; the monsters can kill you whether they are visible or not, so always remain vigilent. The monsters eliminate your health quickly and there is no means of recovery. Proceed carefully and cautiously and explore the levels, trying to uncover the secrets that lay within.
