Spring 2016 Interactive Fiction Contest

First WVU Game Developers Club Interactive Fiction Contest

Using Inform 7, create a game that is playable within 5 minutes. (There may be paths through the game that take longer.) The game must be runnable with Inform Version 1.64.0, that is, release 6M62, release date 24 December 2015. Use a pseudonym for the author (so that review will be anonymous); you’ll be able to edit your real name into the game before distribution.

Submit as a blorb file containing the source file, executable, one or more walk-throughs (including a winning solution) via email to frvanscoy@mail.wvu.edu by 6 pm, Thursday, April 21, 2016.

Judging criteria:
  • enjoyment of the experience (blind review by several people)
  • playable within five minutes
  • completeness of game submission (see chapters 25 and 26 of Writing with Inform)

Winning entries will be announced at the WVU Game Developers Club meeting on Thursday, April 28. All submitters will have the opportunity to demonstrate their games.

Winning games will be made available as executables through the club website. All other submitted games may be similarly made available at the discretion of the author. Source code for any of these games may be made available at the discretion of the author.
